Storycitra.com-Everyone has story, even the place to discover is same but the story always different from you and I. Quotes of the day, “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain.

Today, Citra wants to tell you story about The Golden Temple. This place is famous in Bangkok, Thailand. To get there has many ways, one of using BTS SKytrain but when I go there, I used taxi online from my hotel to the Golden Temple. I spend around 700 Thai Bath (including highway). The driver stops in the middle street, because it is not allow the cars to stop near gate Golden Temple. So, I just need walk around 2 meters. I have to queue to get the ticket entrance and pay for admission around 500 Thai Bath.

The golden grand temple Bangkok, Thailand is like magnet for tourist; that is why it never quiet and always crowded from local and also aboard tourist, including me visit this place. Do you know, you don’t need guide to explain about the history, you can use audio which you can rent it and the price AROUND 200 BT per person for the 2 hours,  and after that you can get recharge again if you still want to using it. The audio guide is very useful if you want to know history with this audio which explains to you.

The weather is very hot there but that is making me sweat; so do not forget to bring mineral water to make you far from hydration. Discover the Golden Temple is very unique experience for myself. Many interest places and also you can get a lot of photographs to your collection, if you love to take photos.

As you know, The Grand Palace Bangkok began construction in 1782 at the order of King Phutthayotfa Chulalok, after seizing the crown from King Taskin of Thonburi. He wanted a new capital for his newly formed dynasty, the Chakri Dynasty. The new capital city was located on the east side of Bangkok and was turned into an artificial island named ‘Rattanakosin’. That is little history about the Grand Golden Temple.

How to get there: If you have access to the BTS Skytrain line, just ride the BTS to Saphan Taksin station and go down to Sathorn pier (Central Pier) just under the station. At the pier, you can choose between tourist boat or local boat. Tourist boat has a separate queue marked with blue arrows. The only tour worth buying is the 40 baht single trip, which points out landmarks and points of interest.

For local boats, take the boats with an orange flag, green flag, or no flag at all. When asked by the ticket lady, pay her 15 baht and go to Tha Chang pier (pier N9). After arriving at Tha Chang pier, exit and walk straight ahead and follow a large white wall until you reach the palace entrance.

Remember friends, you should beware  because there will be scammers trying to tell you that the Grand Palace is closed for various reasons. Then thet will try to sell you one of their tour to another temple or cheap city tour. The best way to handle these scammers is to ignore them completely and carry on with your business.

If you’re in the city, taxi or tuk-tuk can easily get you there. But due to its nature, Bangkok’s traffic is likely to slow you down, so it’s best to go early in the day. This place starts open hours from 8:30 to 15:30. Ticket inside the palace costs around 500 baht (16 USD) for foreigners and is free for Thai citizens. Enjoy discover this place and lets be amazing with the Architecture.
