How to Make Klepon

That food is klepon, small but sweet. I understand if you never try this sweet snack. The shape is not tempting, but the taste is so nice. Can you imagine, when you bite this klepon. You can feel the brown sugar breaking in your mouth. Today,  I am Citra Pandiangan wants to tell you the story about, “How to make klepon.” Miss lazy in the kitchen is back!

 

I can’t believe it, klepon is one of the traditional food, but it also has meaning and philosophy. Can you imagine when the sweet sugar comes out while you bite that snack? The meaning is that sweet is the results after hard working. Life is not easy, sometimes we get struggle and the end we will get the good result. It’s like the sugar comes out after biting them.

 

Do you ever try this klepon? Do you ever come to Indonesia? No worry, if you never come to Indonesia but you are wonder to try this sweet snack food. You can make it, I will share the special recipe and how to make this sweet snack food.

 

Recipe Klepon, Small and sweet

Ingredients:

 200 gr glutinous rice flour

200 ml of hot water

2 tbsp sugar

Pandan paste to taste

Brown sugar to taste

 

Sprinkling Ingredients:

1/2 grated coconut

1/2 tsp salt

How to make:

Steam the grated coconut for 10 minutes, and don’t forget to give little salt. Keep it.

Then, let’s make the klepon, and thinly slice the brown sugar. Put glutinous rice flour and brown sugar into a bowl, add hot water slowly, add enough pandan paste, then knead until smooth and can be formed. Don’t forget to make the dough round, and fill it with brown sugar. Make them until finished or one by one while boiling them in the hot water.  It is cooked while the dough go to up. Drain and sprinkle with grated coconut. The sticky rice klepon is ready to be served.
